Volunteer
EVLA Habitat for Humanity Inc. is a volunteer-driven organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with God and families in need. Though the vast majority have no construction experience or building skills, volunteers are involved in most phases of construction. By working side-by-side with the family who will live in the house, our volunteers experience for themselves the joy created when a family is able to realize their dream of home ownership.
Habitat volunteers contribute more than muscle. Creativity, strategy, and technical skills are among the many invaluable traits volunteers bring to the organization. With a minimal staff, Espanola Valley & Los Alamos Habitat for Humanity Inc. depends upon volunteer committees for support with projects like Family Selection, Family Support, Public Relations, Construction Skills Training, and Volunteer Services. We also offer opportunities in our ReStore, a volunteer-run building materials recycling center.

Time commitments vary; some volunteers dedicate every day of the week to Espanola Valley & Los Alamos Habitat for Humanity Inc. and others spend just a few hours each month working on projects or in the ReStore. As a volunteer for Espanola Valley & Los Alamos Habitat for Humanity Inc., you can choose to volunteer as little or as often as you would like. All of these positions are a tremendous help that directly or indirectly result in the construction of simple, decent homes.
Welcome Pat Devries!
She and husband Lambert retired here in 2009 from Arizona.
They live in White Rock where their daughter, son in law and two grandsons
live. Lambert is a military retiree so they've moved and traveled all
over the world. Pat is a wealth of experience in many different fields,
she and Lambert volunteered on our most recent HH house construction
in 2010.
Pat says she is really enjoying her volunteer work at Habitat, she's
been here about 2 months and comes into her office about 3 times a week.
She is currently updating all the volunteer files and contact info.
